Sixteen turned out to be one sweet year for Melissa and Jon when they met in their high school Spanish class. After dating in high school, it wasn’t until several years later that they met up again and rekindled their relationship; this time it would be forever. For the marriage proposal, Jon decorated the hallway in their San Diego condo with rose petals and candles that led Melissa, an advertising accounts manager for Ceremony Magazine, to a mini tree stump from West Elm (Jon’s modern take on a pedestal) and him on one knee. Melissa, who was both surprised and excited by the sight, said, “Jon knew I would never expect him to do it at our condo. Every place we went – Temecula, the beach, downtown – he knew I would think it was going to happen there.” Like in high school, the couple didn’t need to venture far from home to find happiness.
