An interjected comment made to an overheard joke at a Big Brothers/Big Sisters event in 2007 forever connected Valen and Mark. The conversation has been easy ever since! A white Christmas with Valen’s family in Beaver Creek, Colorado became the moment every girl remembers. Mark whisked Valen off for the evening in a sleigh ride to a five star restaurant. After dinner, the pair climbed back into the sleigh where Mark told Valen that he had an early Christmas present for her…the most glittering diamond ring she had ever seen!
