Take full advantage of California’s climate. Think I DON’T Have to be a June Bride. While other couples are out their clamoring to ‘spoon in June,’ consider booking a venue in the off season. Many wedding locations offer wonderful discounts for use of their facilities, especially during the winter. Your dream venue is out there if you are willing to compromise a bit on the date!

Ah, the joys of the bubbly! But, boy can that sweet nectar get pricey. Before you pour into everyone’s glass, say I DON’T Need to Pour a Glass for Everyone. Now, I’m not trying to be a ‘brut,’ but the fact of the matter is that some of your guests my not care for champagne, or they may not partake in the drinking of alcoholic beverages. Consider keeping the champagne at the bar where your guests may acquire a flute specifically designated for the toast.

Homemade is from the heart! So, if you are so inclined, think I DO It Myself. Whip up some home baked treats that your guests can take home to savor, not only their flavor, but savor the memories of your special day. Tuck in the recipe so they can relive the moment time and again!

It is tempting to get caught up in the “registry rush.” The thrill of finding the perfect items to feather your nest is overpowering. However, why not say I DON’T Need to Register Everywhere. Register wisely. For example, there are many registries that focus strictly on your honeymoon. Back in July we featured Honeymoon Wishes which allows guests to not only contribute to travel expenses, but they can gift you packages such as sporting excursions, spa treatments, dining experiences and the list goes on! You will benefit by having your honeymoon paid for and enjoy knowing that your friends and family were a part of such a wonderful experience.

Believe it or not, how your food is served at the reception can make a difference in its cost. Say I DO to Serving it up Family Style. Individually plated meals tend to be more costly because of the amount of preparation that goes into each one. Less plating is required for each of the tables at the reception when going family style. Serving your meal this way also creates an intimacy in your ambiance. Your guests will really feel at home!
